Remdesivir & Favilavir trials underway

A number of drugs are in various phases of trials to combat patients with Covid-19 infections. There are two drugs that look promising subject to further testing, trials, and FDA approvals in the USA.

Remdesivir is a drug that was tried on the ebola virus with no proven success. The drug is a compound to fight different types of corono viruses. There are several trials of this drug currently underway with some promising results. However, its true effectiveness is still being evaluated pending all the trials. Patients in Washington, California, Nebraska have shown positive effects of the drugs. China is also using the drug on a trial basis. We hope, that the results are favorable so that patients that are having severe effects could have an alternative treatment. We encourage viewers to share their input on this drug or of they have experienced the usage of this drug as part of a trial.

The second drug is manufactured by China with the common name”Favilavir” or “Avigan” in Japan. This is an anti-viral drug which has received positive results on trials with Covid-19 patients in China. The drug has now been officially approved by China as part of treatment for this disease. However, FDA has not approved this drug for usage in the United States.
