As the saying goes, everything’s bigger in Texas and one BBQ restaurant has a loaded baked potato that fits the oversized bill.
Sherice and Steve Garner, who opened SouthernQ BBQ and Catering in Houston, Texas, 10 years ago, joined “Good Morning America” to share a recipe from the hometown hot spot’s hearty menu.
“Barbecue is not only a way of life, it is also a religion down here. It is a way of gathering family and friends,” pitmaster Steve Garner told “GMA.”
“It’s a lot of home cooking and it’s a lot of flavor and love in it,” Sherice Garner added.
Due to COVID-19 dining restrictions the business lost most of its catering operations and had to close their original location.
“That meant a lot to us. That was our first building,” Sherice Garner explained.
For the past few weeks, the Garners have continued to help feed their hungry community with curb-side service and now they’re sharing the secrets to one of SouthernQ’s signature items.
