Nueces County as 83 cases of COVID-19; 8 people recovered

Coronavirus cases in Nueces County surpassed 80 Tuesday, according to health district reports.

Officials reported four new COVID-19 cases in Nueces County, bringing the total to 83, according to the health district’s website.

No tests were conducted by the health district Tuesday, data shows. All new cases are under investigation. 

There have been no coronavirus-related deaths reported in Nueces County, as of Tuesday afternoon. 

Tuesday, Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni said eight people had recovered from the virus. 

In all, 17 people have been hospitalized due to the virus, and 13 people have been released from the hospital, Zanoni said. As of Monday afternoon, four people were in the hospital. Zanoni said three people were released from the intensive care unit.
